Most financial advice was built for someone else’s life. MWB is specifically for SE Asian Australians in the gap between building income and building wealth — and for allies who want to genuinely show up.
Earning well or running a business, but personal wealth is on hold. Every dollar is contested. Super has been on autopilot for years. The income is real; the wealth system isn’t built yet. This is MWB’s core membership.

We didn’t grow up
talking about wealth.
My parents fled Laos in 1980 — not by choice, but because a communist regime had taken power and staying meant risking their lives.
Like so many SE Asian families who came to Australia as refugees, they arrived in Sydney with no language, no safety net, and no roadmap. However, what they did have was quiet grit and the hope of a better future.
From survival to strategy
At home, we never talked about investing or superannuation. Instead, we talked about survival — making ends meet and sending money home. As a result, the wealth-building conversations many Australians take for granted simply never happened.
Now in my 40s, I’m building the community I wish my parents had access to. That community is Migrant Wealth Builders — starting with the SE Asian Australian experience, and open to anyone who’s navigating wealth without a safety net or a family blueprint to follow.
This isn’t about becoming someone else’s version of success. It’s about building wealth on our terms.

South East Asia includes eleven countries: Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei, and Timor-Leste. If your family roots trace back to any of these countries — whether you were born there, migrated from there, or grew up in Australia with parents who did — this community is built with you in mind.
Because I’m SE Asian, and that’s the lens I can speak to most authentically. My parents fled Laos. I grew up navigating two worlds. I want to build something that SE Asian Australians can look at and say — “finally, they get me.”
That specificity is intentional. A community built for everyone often ends up serving no one particularly well. MWB events and spaces are also open to allies — people from any background who want to show up and support this community.
